What benefits will Greater Southern Waterfront bring about?

According to the URA Master Plan, Singapore Government is working towards the Gateway to Future Live, Work and Play. The Greater Southern Waterfront is one planning in place to power-up Pasir Panjang, improve accessibility and promote urban Living.

The areas of focus stretches from Gardens by the Bay East to Pasir Panjang, comprising these areas:

  • Keppel
  • Pasir Panjang Power District & Terminal

This Greater Southern Waterfront is expected to be about 6 times more than the area of the Marina Bay, which comprises a coastline that is in total 30 kilometres long.

More Residential Developments – Approximately 9,000 New Homes will be established, including public homes (BTOs flats from the HDB) and private housing. The demand for BTO units here is very popular due to the location. Some HDB owners gained capital appreciations from Pinnacle at Duxton, which owners bought their BTO flats at $450K during balloting and managed to sell them for over $1 million upon meeting their Minimum Occupation Period (MOP).

Better accessibility – more MRT stations, Rail Corridor, new resort that offers vibrant recreational activities. The Circle Line will have ongoing extension and upcoming Thomson East Coast Line will be ready by 2025. Rail Corridor will become Singapore’s very own open space with lush natural landscapes and elements of rich heritage. The new resort named “Downtown South” will complement Sentosa, with plans to rejuvenate the recreational and leisure facilities in Singapore.
